THE RETREAT Chapter One

I wouldn't blame any faithful but patient followers of my stories thinking that I'd given up, or fallen off the edge of the earth, as it seems the last time I posted anything here was Christmas 2017! 

Well, I haven't been totally idle. I've been working on a new story - all year! As I've mentioned before, I like to have the whole thing more or less completed before I start posting it. That way I can develop the characters more and iron out inconsistencies and revise details as I go along. And my preference most recently has been to post the whole thing as a completed ebook. It may seem a little over the top for something that is really only a sexual fantasy, but for me the whole enjoyment is to get it just right so that at least I can more or less believe in it.  

I've had quite a few distractions this year and I still have a couple of chapters to write - although the whole thing is mapped out in my head. I should be able to complete it in a month or so but, in the circumstances, I have decided  to go back to posting it chapter by chapter as a weekly (roughly) serial. Hopefully by the time I get to posting Chapter Eight I will have completed Nine and Ten.

The story brings to life a fantasy that came to me some years ago when I visited a strange, creepy old house in the depths of the English countryside. It was currently being used as a school, which was odd because, as well as having a general atmosphere of decay, the rooms were vast and decorated with baroque murals, and down some wooden steps there was an eerie cellar-like basement converted into changing rooms, showers and wash rooms! Need I say more?

Also, it's a loose connection, but the character of Andy is sort of mean to be the same Andy that Adam and Robbie met in the last story, but about three years older.

As usual, it all takes place in my alternate universe, a post war Europe (in this case England) where the Reichmarshalls rule and slavery is fundamental to the New Order.

Here it is at last. Just in time for Christmas. The first book in (I hope) a series about a young boy's experiences growing up in my fantasy where male slavery is firmly established as part of the new world order.

As I indicated before, the boy is an observer, at least to begin with, so no worries about underage shenanigans - although he is very up close to things and even "hands on" on some occasions. And he gets his fair share of shock, pain and punishment.

But it's the people he meets (Masters and slaves) and their stories that is what it's all about. A chance for me to take a vicarious journey into my dream world of pain and submission.

As ever I will try and put on some speed with my writing. I'm currently working on a short piece involving one of the young characters in Robbie and Me, a few years on. When that's finished I'll start on Book Two of Adam's Journey.

It seems ages since I last posted. That's because it is! My only excuse is that I am still labouring over the final chapters of the new story, which is the first volume (I hope) of Adam's Journey. Provisional title "Robbie and Me" (or possibly "Me and Robbie" - it's difficult decisions like that that hold me up!). The thing is, I'd got to Chapter 12 and it was going to be the last and then these new characters suddenly turned up and I had to add a new chapter to tell their story (think Native Americans!). But I've dealt with them now, and am speeding towards the conclusion.

If I haven't mentioned it yet on this blog, Adam's Journey is going to follow the adventures and experiences of a young English boy who (in my post-apocalyptic world where the Reich Masters rule Europe and slavery is their main pastime) is captured and sold into slavery. It focus's mainly on the people he meets, mostly other slaves, and their stories, but it also follows his own thoughts and feelings about what is going on around him. 

As a taster, here's the short prologue.

PREFACE TO BOOK ONE

I am kneeling beside my Master as he reads me this first volume of His Book. It is my story, or rather it is the story of my journey from childhood into slavery, but it His Book. Just as I am His slave.

I was taught a little how to read and write when I was a child, before they took me, but that is so long ago now that I have forgotten most of it, which makes me very slow. But my Master, who is very fond of me and is very kind, has listened to me recounting it all and has written it down. And now it sounds so beautiful with words that I would never have been able to find that I am proud to be kneeling here listening to him read it.

A lot of what is described in the book happened many years ago. I am about thirty-eight years old now, according to my Master’s calculations, which is quite old for a slave, but I am fortunate that he wishes to keep me as a companion. And he has a young grandson, who is about the age I was when this story begins, and I have to take care of him and serve him as well as my Master. For my Master is not well. He may not live many years longer. That is why he has made me the joint property of himself and his grandson. That way I can go on serving him even after his death.

Here then is the story of my journey into slavery and the stories of the people I have encountered and the adventures I have had along the way.

A Slave's Pain

After reading one of my stories, somebody wrote and asked me what enjoyment is gained from causing so much pain to a slave? The obvious and immediate answer is that it excites me - but then I got thinking a bit more seriously about it. It's a very good question.

If I focus on the pleasure some Masters get from inflicting pain on a slave (and some of my fictional masters are pretty cruel and unsavoury) it is to highlight the plight of the slave himself - his painful journey - the incredible discipline and endurance which will in the long term be his path to salvation.

But not all my 'Master' characters are quite so brutal. One or two of them I am trying to develop so that they too go on a journey, building empathy and understanding so that at some stage there will be some sort of spiritual union between slave and Master.

A lot of this I am exploring and discovering as I go along, which is part of my enjoyment in writing these stories. Occasionally I go over the top! The Wooden Stake (one of the four Short Fantasies) has been criticised in the past as being too violent and sadistic. A fair comment. Actually it's really just an erotic horror story (sort of a 'queer' Edgar Alan Poe).

In fact a lot of my ideas spring from adventure stories. I once tried to write my own traditional adventure story - but it kept ending up with my young hero tied up, humiliated or being tortured and it pretty soon came clear to me that that's where my real inspiration lies!
